Modern kitchens
are usually designed with a wall oven (or two!) separate from the actual cook top surface. In such case, the first choice will provide you
with a proper cooking surface. The latter would be the best choice best choice if there is no wall oven or other cooking
appliance available in the kitchen.
The range-surface-only version installed to hang on the countertop and
will look as if it is ‘built-in’. They require additional paneling and cabinet support underneath them. These
units do consume about ~ 24” inches of depth but that should usually leave room for a short cabinet or a
couple of drawers.
Combo Drop-In
Gas Ranges consume a great deal more vertical cabinet space…just as a slide in range would
consume. However, these units
typically do not have a bottom storage drawer but one might fit underneath, depending on your particular cabinet
depth and combo oven choice.
Once
installation is complete, drop-in gas ranges look completely natural and appear to have been installed from day
one. You can get a number of
optional including grill grates, griddle surface, warming trays and multiple burner
configurations.
Drop in ranges come in a variety of colors to suit everyone's taste
and needs. Not everyone would use all the options the make in drop in ranges. You can buy the options you
desire or the ones you are going to use. They can all be supplied with drop in gas ranges of different size,
